Landgate: changes to fees for applications to bring old system land under the TLA

October 17, 2025

Effective from Thursday, 16 October 2025, amendments to the Registration of Deeds Regulations 2004 and the Transfer of Land Regulations 2004 will enable the Registrar to either waive, not require, or refund certain fees associated with an application to bring land under the Transfer of Land Act 1893 (TLA.)

Fees which will not be required include:

•            Application lodgement

•            Plan lodgement (if any)

•            Requisition fee

•            Withdrawal fee

•            Advertising

As part of the changes, the fees for Certificates of Title searches for any contiguous land and Memorials and Deeds searches will be refundable to the customer, where they can demonstrate the searches were made for the purposes of lodging an application to bring land under the TLA.

For more information, view Landgate’s Land Transaction Policy and Procedure guide, TYP-04 Bringing Land Under the TLA, at www.landgate.wa.gov.au.
