The 2025 Mock Trial Competition Grand Final was held on 16 October, with Iona Presentation College taking home the top honour after a spirited contest against Bob Hawke College.
Both teams demonstrated exceptional advocacy skills in a fictional case involving a challenge to fight a duel — a scenario inspired by the K-Pop Demon Hunter phenomenon. The intensity, preparation, and courtroom flair on display made for an entertaining and closely fought final.
While the standard of advocacy was outstanding on both sides, Iona Presentation College emerged victorious as the 2025 Mock Trial Competition champions. Congratulations to the winning team and to all participants who contributed to another remarkable year of competition.

The Law Society extends its thanks to the Department of Justice, Public Purposes Trust, Francis Burt Chambers, University of Western Australia, Curtin University, and University of Notre Dame for their generous support of the program.
Special thanks also go to Judge Hughes and Judge Jeyamohan for adjudicating the final, to The Hon. Dr Tony Buti MLA for attending the event, and to Kylie Maj, Director-General of the Department of Justice, for presenting the medals.
The success of the competition each year depends on the dedication of our many volunteers — law students, graduates, associates, lawyers, and members of the judiciary — who serve as advocacy coaches, mock trial judges, and case writers. Your time and expertise make the Mock Trial Competition a truly unique educational experience.
