Law Week Long Lunch 2025

June 13, 2025

Friday’s Law Week Long Lunch was the cherry on top of what was an extraordinary 2025 Law Week.

More than 120 guests were treated to a keynote address by Professor Ed Santow, who spoke on the topic of “The future is now: AI, ethics and innovation in the legal profession”. This was followed by a fireside chat between Ed and Law Society CEO Kate Wellington, with plenty of questions from the floor.

All in all, it was the perfect way to wrap up a brilliant Law Week. The atmosphere in the room was one of genuine curiosity about how AI is impacting the profession, and optimism that the profession is well placed to adapt, and indeed be instrumental, as AI expands further into everyday life.

A huge thank you to all who attended and made it such a special day. An extra special thanks to Matthew McGuire for a beautiful Welcome to Country, and to Cullen P. Haynes and the team at Legal Home Loans, as well as Julianna Shearn and the team at SHEARN HR LEGAL Human Resources + Recruitment, for sponsoring the event.
