If Greg McIntyre SC had a spare 10 minutes

January 20, 2026

Tiffany Cosby interviews Greg McIntyre SC to find out how he likes to spend his time.

What would an ideal weekend for you look like?

An ideal weekend for me is starting Saturday morning with a class at the gym, a visit to the beach with children and grandchildren, a film watched on a streaming service and an evening party, preferably costume themed.

What’s a skill you’d love to learn?

I would love to have completed learning to play the guitar and piano.

Which do you prefer: Bali or Berlin? Why?

I enjoy in equal measure – and combining – a holiday that includes cultural experiences, visiting museums and art galleries, and learning about local customs (particularly traditional costumes) and a holiday which includes beaches and infinity pools. In 2025, I had such a holiday which took in Spain, Southern France and Morocco and included some beaches and a roof-top pool at one venue. I collected some traditional headgear and visited museums.

Finish this sentence: Sometimes I’m quite …

Despondent about the primitive nature of our society and the fact our local and world leaders and societies so readily descend into xenophobia, engaging in exclusionary migration practices and belligerent activities, wars and atrocities against our fellow human beings. Nothing appears to have been learned from history in this regard.

Name one thing on your bucket list

My bucket list comprises living to a venerable age having experienced a broad range of things, and having continued to contribute something positive to my fellow human beings.

Where is a place you’ve always wanted to travel to?

South America.

Describe your personal ‘brand’ in four words

Perseverance, empathy, optimism and advocacy.

What food will always remind you of your childhood and why?

Vita Brits (similar to Weet Bix) are my earliest memory of breakfast.

If you had a spare 10 minutes right now, how would you use it?

I’d go to social media to catch up on what my friends are doing and the latest news.
